Organized by The R&A (The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews) in the U.K., The Open is one of the four major tournaments in professional golf. It has a 150-year history and is a stage aspired to by golfers the world over. NTT DATA supports this world-class sporting event as an Official Patron and is engaged in groundbreaking work to offer spectators new ways to enjoy the competition.
From Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 July, an innovative project culminating in a three-hour broadcast production that will show many of the best players of the last 50 years battling it out for the Claret Jug at the home of golf. The broadcast will be made available via TV, digital and social media channels from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 19 July, the day The 149th Open was originally scheduled to conclude at Royal St George’s.Press Release: The Open uses NTT DATA’s AI and video technology to create a virtual Championship of golfing greats from across the decades
The NTT DATA Wall provides a visualization of a wide range of data generated by activities at The Open in real time, giving shape to the many hidden dramas behind the numbers. Golf fans who have traveled to the event and those viewing from their homes around the world can both use the NTT DATA Wall to enjoy a new style of interactive experience as golf spectators.

These awards represents a great achievement for NTT DATA, NTT DATA Digitization for The Open Championship for these years.
NTT DATA is delighted to be shortlisted for BT Sport Industry Awards 2019 for the category: Best Use of Analytics, Data or Research Award for its sponsorship of The Open. To earn a place on the Official Shortlist 2 times since last year represents a great achievement for NTT DATA, given the rigorous judging process which is undertaken for these awards.
The BT Sport Industry Awards are the largest commercial sports awards in the world, taking place at Battersea Evolution in London, on Thursday 25th April 2019.
